About this role
Role Overview
Coordinate and manage intermodal container flows across Chile, including trucking, rail interfaces where applicable, depots, and inland destinations.
Optimise routing, capacity allocation, and cost efficiency across the inland network.
Monitor intermodal KPIs such as dwell times, equipment turnaround, truck reliability, and cost-per-leg.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to maintain service reliability.
Liaise closely with trucking companies, depots, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless container movements.
Oversee container vessel port calls at Chilean terminals, ensuring efficient berth operations and minimised turnaround time.
Coordinate with terminals, port authorities, vessel agents, and stevedores.
Monitor operational productivity (GMPH, crane intensity, berth window adherence) and react swiftly to operational contingencies.
Identify risks such as congestion, weather impacts, or labour constraints and implement mitigation actions.
Track, analyse, and report KPIs related to intermodal flows, port productivity, and vessel operations.
Use operational data to identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities.
Prepare structured performance reports for management and support data-driven decision-making.
Manage cost control elements, including inland transport, port charges, and equipment flows.
Ensure all operations comply with internal standards, safety requirements, and local regulations.
Maintain accurate operational records, vessel call documentation, and transport movement logs.
Act as a high-quality operational interface between local teams and regional or head-office functions.
Requirements
Degree in Logistics, Foreign Trade, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in liner shipping, port operations, intermodal logistics, depot operations, or vessel agency.
Proven understanding of inland logistics flows and container operational cycles.
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel or equivalent data tools.
Good command of English (spoken and written).
Container operations and intermodal planning.
Local port procedures, customs regulations, and operational standards.
Understanding of mathematical concepts for operational analysis (fractions, ratios, proportions, percentages).
Familiarity with logistics management systems and operational software.
