Bursar Associate I

Role Overview

• Coordinates with learners to maintain on-time payments of tuition and fees.
• Posts payments from all funding sources in to the ledger.
• Posts relevant fees manually into the student information system (SIS).
• Updates learner accounts to reflect refunds.
• Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments.
• Updates the SIS to reflect payments and ensure accuracy of the ledger.
• Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.

Requirements

• Some college is required; an associate degree in accounting/finance from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Demonstrated one year of experience with entry-level or basic Accounting/Finance is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is required.
• Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, is required.
• Demonstrated one year of experience in customer service field is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, graphs is preferred.
• Some experience at a higher institution of learning is preferred.
• Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable is preferred.
