Prepare and process payroll for Canadian and U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, state and other regulations, including payroll withholdings, Records of Employment, payroll filings, year‑end tax slips, etc.
Process employee expense reports (expense accounts) for inclusion in the payroll cycle.
Calculate sales commissions and ensure timely payments to agents.
Prepare and submit sales tax remittances for Canada and the United States.
Participate in inventory management processes, ensuring adjustments are documented and recorded in accordance with company policy.
Participate in the annual audit process in collaboration with the international finance team and external auditors.
Facilitate the timely filing of tax returns for Canada and the United States in collaboration with external partners.
Assist the Manager, FP&A in improving finance department processes and support ad‑hoc requests.
Requirements
College diploma in accounting or finance (AEC, DEC, or equivalent technical/administrative accounting training) with 5–7 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
Advanced Excel skills, experience with payroll systems and integrated accounting/ERP systems; familiarity with ADP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
Proven knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll laws and standards, accounting rules and sales tax compliance.
Experience working in a manufacturing company, in a multi‑currency and multi‑entity environment.
Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate with international colleagues, partners and retailers in English‑speaking Canada.
