Own all accounting, statutory, tax, treasury, and operational finance responsibilities for Hugo’s US operations while managing consolidated financial reporting and group audit or reviews for Hugo Technologies Inc.
Ensure accurate and compliant financials under US GAAP, maintain strong internal controls, and coordinate with Africa-based finance teams for intercompany funding, IFRS–US GAAP conversion, and local audit support.
Drive automation, working capital discipline, and scalable processes that improve accuracy, cash efficiency, and financial insight across the group.
Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for consolidation and internal decision-making.
Maintain disciplined accounting processes and strengthen controls as the business scales.
Coordinate external financial reviews and audit readiness, ensuring all entities maintain documentation, reconciliations, and controls that meet auditor, lender or investor standards.
Ensure intercompany balances and funding are reconciled and compliant with group policies.
Oversee all US statutory, tax, and regulatory filings, working with external advisors.
Identify and mitigate financial and compliance risks, including FX and intercompany exposure.
Monitor and optimize working capital i.e. AR, AP, and intercompany, to ensure liquidity and efficiency.
Partner with FP&A and business leaders to ensure reporting supports performance measurement and decision-making.
Support process automation and system improvements within NetSuite and reporting tools to enable scale.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, ACCA, or CA (fully qualified).
8–12 years in accounting or controllership, including: US GAAP financial reporting and audit experience.
Exposure to IFRS–US GAAP conversion and multi-entity consolidation.
Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting and working capital management.
ERP experience (NetSuite preferred).
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliation and analysis.
Strong understanding of financial data and reporting structures to support FP&A collaboration.
Knowledge of transfer pricing is a plus.
