Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
Own the delivery and evolution of Bloq.it’s data platform, including data ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
Partner closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
Define and promote best practices for data modeling, data quality, testing, documentation, and governance.
Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
Drive prioritization and roadmap planning for the data team in alignment with business and technical goals.
Establish KPIs and SLAs for data availability and accuracy.
Promote a data-driven culture by enabling self-service analytics and trustworthy insights across the organization.

Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering or software engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role
Strong experience designing and maintaining data pipelines (batch and/or streaming)
Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts (e.g., star/snowflake schemas)
Hands-on experience with modern data stacks and tools (e.g., cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift; orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python
Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term architecture.
It would be great if you would also have:
Experience working with products that combine hardware and software
Experience in fast-growing scale-ups, especially during rapid growth phases
Previous experience building or scaling a data platform or data team from scratch
Familiarity with analytics engineering and BI tools (e.g., dbt, Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
