As a Senior Developer Experience (DevEx) Engineer, you play a key role in enabling and accelerating engineering teams working on the Nextlane Platform.
Your mission is to improve developer productivity, reliability, and quality by building and operating the internal tooling, CI/CD foundations, and platform capabilities used by backend and platform teams.
You act as a facilitator and force multiplier for product teams, working closely with backend engineers, platform engineers, and DevOps to reduce friction, standardize practices, and promote engineering excellence across the organization.
This role is hands-on and strategic, with a strong focus on automation, self-service, and scalable developer enablement in a microservices and cloud-native environment.
Design, build, and maintain internal developer tools that improve day-to-day engineering workflows.
Gather feedback from engineering teams and continuously improve the developer experience.
Design, maintain, and evolve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Build and operate platform services based on Azure Functions.
Support and evolve Kubernetes-based runtime environments in collaboration with platform and DevOps teams.
Enable consistent testing practices across teams through tooling and documentation.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevEx, or DevOps roles.
Proven track record of improving developer productivity and delivery quality at scale.
Experience supporting multiple teams in a microservices environment.
Experience working in cloud environments (Azure & AWS preferred).
Fluent in English (mandatory); French language proficiency is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
Proven experience building CI/CD platforms and internal developer tooling.
Hands-on experience with Azure Functions.
Solid knowledge of containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
Experience with integration testing frameworks and automation.
Strong understanding of package management, versioning, and dependency strategies.
