Lead and support control systems projects through all phases—feasibility, design, implementation, and commissioning
Identify opportunities to expand automation and electrification scope within projects to deliver additional client value
Collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project goals, timelines, and budgets are successfully achieved
Design and develop modern control systems (hardware and software) tailored to client needs
Develop process control narratives to integrate automation solutions with new and existing equipment and processes
Build and implement control algorithms and logic, based on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
Test, simulate, and troubleshoot systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance
Produce clear, high-quality technical documentation and project deliverables
Drive checkout and commissioning activities to completion including the ability to provide training to operations and maintenance teams on DCS system handover
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Engineering (automation, electrical, or related field)
Registration as EIT, P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia
10+ years of industrial experience (Pulp & Paper and consulting experience is a strong asset)
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Hands-on design and configuration experience with DCS platforms (e.g., ABB, Emerson, Foxboro, Honeywell)
Experience with PLC/HMI systems and project management is an asset
Proven problem-solving ability across control systems hardware, software, and communications
Strong knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity practices
Willingness and ability to travel to domestic and international project sites
Legally entitled to work in Canada
