Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and infrastructure teams to implement solutions
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex ETL processes using Ab Initio
Deploy, administer, and configure central Ab Initio components such as Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Co>Operating System, Express>It, and Metadata Hub
Design and implement robust data pipelines for batch and streaming processing
Ensure data quality, integration, and modeling within modern data engineering architectures
Perform performance tuning and root-cause analysis for complex graphs and processes to stabilize production operations
Actively contribute to projects related to data governance, data catalogs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DORA)
Document and present technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
Degree in (business) computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a comparable qualification
Fluent communication skills in German and English
Deep expertise with at least 3–5 years of Ab Initio experience, particularly with GDE, Co>Operating System, Express>It, and Metadata Hub
Several years of experience developing and maintaining complex ETL architectures
Strong SQL skills and experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL) as well as Unix/Linux scripting
Solid understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data governance
Experience in performance optimization and debugging of complex ETL processes
Knowledge of batch and stream processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark) is an advantage
Strong consultancy skills with the ability to confidently guide clients through complex technical projects
Experience in agile project environments and proficient use of tools such as Jira and Confluence
Analytical mindset, high quality orientation, and structured working style
Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with technical and business stakeholders
