About this role
Role Overview
- Develop and enhance a complex B2B portal in the insurance domain
- Implement requirements in the frontend (Apache Wicket) and backend (Spring, Hibernate)
- Integrate messaging components using JMS
- Data modeling and access using MS SQL
- Close collaboration with Product Owners, QA and DevOps in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical evolution
- Use and evaluate AI-assisted tools for code generation or test automation
- Focus on software quality through automated testing and/or security reviews
Requirements
- Several years of experience in full-stack development with Java
- Strong knowledge of: Spring Framework, Apache Wicket, Hibernate / JPA, JMS (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ), MS SQL Server
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Knowledge of test automation (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) or IT security
- Experience with AI-assisted code generation (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer) is a plus
- Excellent written and spoken German; English skills are an advantage
