guide them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools
take system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
ensure they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards
collaborate closely with project engineers, external customers, and field-based employees to integrate various technological components into cohesive and effective defense mechanisms
work alongside software teams to develop and field software for these systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
collaborate with internal hardware design engineers, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure all components work together harmoniously
Requirements
Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline
typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
higher education may substitute for relevant experience
demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
knowledge of industry standard Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools
ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
