About this role
Role Overview
Maintains day-to-day data administration of SQL server in a clustered environment
Documents complex installation, configuration, and optimization procedures so they can be automated
Actions tickets from end users, answers questions, and promptly addresses issues that arises
Takes proactive measures to monitor, trend, and tune SQL databases
Ensures databases are backed up and can be recovered
Drives initiatives to automate and innovate processes
Other duties as needed to support Data Architects and Developers
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Database Management, or another related field
3+ years’ experience working as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA
Experience running query analysis, performance tuning, and maintenance routines
Experience with creating and maintaining stored procedures
Experience with database clustering (FCI or Always On Availability Groups)
Familiar with basic Windows administration
PowerShell or Python experience is required
Experience working in a cloud or virtual environment is a plus but not required
Coding experience is a plus but not required
