About this role
Role Overview
Join a team of 35 experienced engineers specializing in Internet of Things and sensor technology.
In partnership with your hiring manager, convert complex sensor data into robust, scalable, and secure backend architectures.
Architect scalable data platforms and deliver end-to-end analytical solutions.
Optimize ETL processes and improve data quality through effective cleansing and enrichment techniques.
Continuously improve and automate software performance by identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
Use Grafana to implement alerting mechanisms to detect data anomalies, track data-quality KPIs, and enable data-driven troubleshooting.
Primarily work with Python, Airflow, Docker, Bash, Linux command line, C/C++, and Grafana.
Occasionally support field operations by acquiring sensor data on site and validating the technology through controlled field trials.
Requirements
Due to security regulations for this role, you must hold citizenship of an EU Member State.
Minimum 5 years of full-time professional experience as a software or systems engineer.
Minimum 2 years of full-time professional experience in data engineering.
Fluent in Python.
Experience working with Airflow and Docker.
Proficient with Bash scripting and the Linux command line.
Experience designing, implementing, migrating, deploying, and operating production systems, including observability and monitoring.
Familiarity with visualizing metrics, logs, and traces from various data sources using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or similar.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Passion for IoT and defense-related technologies.
Hold a valid German work permit and Tax ID.
Reside in Germany and be willing to support field operations around Berlin.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Ideally some experience with C/C++.
