Role Overview
- Mechanical design and engineering studies
- Prepare technical specifications
- Study, size and design mechanical components
- Design complete mechanical systems
- Create 3D models and technical drawings
- Produce assembly and detail drawings
- Prepare technical bills of materials (BOMs)
- Write manufacturing/method and industrialization documentation
- Distribute drawings and schematics to workshops, certification bodies and external partners
- Manage drawing revision indices
- Send BOMs to the Purchasing department
- Develop and maintain a digital parts library
- Provide technical support to production teams
- Address issues encountered during commissioning
- Track modifications made on board and update drawings
- Produce as-built drawings for the client
- Participate in the Design Office's continuous improvement initiatives
- Process technical improvement reports
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Systems (Bac+5 equivalent)
- Prior experience in a mechanical design office is preferred
- Experience in the naval sector or integrating systems in constrained environments is an asset
- Mechanical design
- 3D modeling
- Creation of technical drawings
- Proficiency in CATIA
- Preparation of bills of materials (BOMs)
- Ability to read and manage technical documentation
- Good command of English
