Lead technical delivery: oversee and deliver complex studies, analytics, and technical reports for forestry management, conservation, and restoration projects in the Philippines for now (and then possibly in broader Southeast Asia).
Carbon project leadership: guide the formulation, feasibility, and certification of emission reduction projects under major standards (such as Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, ERS), ensuring technical excellence and market integrity.
Strategic advisory: advise clients—including NGOs, private developers, and governments—on voluntary carbon markets, project structuring, and climate finance strategies aligned with evolving regional and international frameworks.
Stakeholder engagement: build and maintain trusted relationships with project teams, clients, government agencies, and partner organisations; represent HAMERKOP at regional forums and industry events.
Policy and market intelligence: monitor and interpret climate policy, carbon market trends, and relevant legislation in the Philippines; provide thought leadership and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Team leadership: mentor junior consultants, contribute to internal capacity building, and help shape HAMERKOP’s growing Southeast Asian practice.
Requirements
Required BSc or MSc in forestry, environmental science, conservation, ecology, or a related technical field.
At least 5–10 years of professional experience in forestry, land management, or climate-related projects, with significant experience in Southeast Asia.
Strong understanding of carbon markets functioning.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills; attention to detail and a track record of delivering high-quality outputs.
Fluent in spoken and written English and Tagalog.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural, distributed team.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and a commitment to mentoring others.
