About this role
Role Overview
You take product ownership for our platform migration and the ongoing development of the product.
You act as the interface between executive management and engineering — you make decisions instead of just passing them on.
You steer the migration content-wise: what gets migrated when, which features come first, and what can wait.
You build and maintain the backlog, write clear requirements, and ensure the development team always knows what’s coming next.
You perform acceptance checks and validate outcomes against requirements — functionally, regulatorily, and from a UX perspective.
You are the counterpart to the executive team: you translate business requests into actionable work packages and protect the team from scope creep.
You coordinate with Design (currently being established) and ensure design specifications are implementable and consistent.
You bring structure to a fast-growing team — without creating bureaucracy. Lean processes that fit a small team.
Important: This is not an administrative role. You will actively shape how the company is set up technically and organizationally. If you want to build something rather than administrate it, this is the right place for you.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager — ideally in a startup, agency, or fast-growing company.
You’ve experienced times when everything happens at once and know how to stay focused.
You have supported at least one migration, relaunch, or greenfield project and understand what can go wrong.
You think in outcomes, not outputs. You ask “Does this solve a real problem?” before asking “Is this in the backlog?”.
Technically literate: you don’t have to code, but you understand what an API is, why data migrations are complex, and how a design system impacts development velocity.
AI affinity is required: we work AI-first. Our development process makes intensive use of Claude, Cursor and similar tools. You don’t need to operate them yourself, but you must understand what’s possible and be able to assess the speed they provide.
Experience in regulated environments (FinTech, EnergyTech, GreenTech, emissions/credits trading) is a strong plus — we process financial data and interact with the German Federal Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt).
Fluent in German, good command of English.
Startup mindset: you want to help build a company, not just complete tickets. You think proactively, contribute ideas, and take responsibility beyond your immediate tasks.
