As a PHP developer you are part of our backend team and work together with colleagues from other software areas to further develop our platform.
You design new features on our existing Yii-based site, contribute to our new Symfony developments and actively help migrate the monolith to a service-oriented architecture.
You further develop existing Transfermarkt functions and initiate new features — both in the monolith and in the new Symfony stack.
You build robust REST APIs that connect our web and app projects.
You coordinate closely with stakeholders, e.g. on API design or the integration of external services.
You work in a growing system that handles many millions of requests per day — performance, scalability and clean architecture are the focus.
You build it, you run it: your interest goes beyond software development; you are also interested in how the application behaves in production, and how it can be monitored and improved.
You develop in an agile Scrum process in two-week sprints and actively participate in reviews, retrospectives and technical improvements.
Requirements
You have several years of experience developing with PHP — ideally with Symfony, Yii or comparable frameworks.
You are familiar with REST APIs and classic MVC architecture and are open to transitioning to a modern service-based environment.
You have an understanding of performance, scalability and maintainability of large web applications.
You are interested in close technical coordination with microservice and frontend colleagues.
You enjoy working in a team, actively participate in code reviews and take responsibility for your areas.
Very good German language skills (at least C1) are required.
