About this role
Role Overview
Researches and recommends corporate credits and both new issue and secondary market IG and HY corporate bonds and leveraged loans, all in support of Empowers General Account, Separate Account and CLO investment programs.
Presents new investment proposals to the Head of Corporate Bond Research and other senior managers.
Completes all internal credit approval processes and documentation needs in a timely and efficient manner.
Develops expertise in assigned industries and manages an existing portfolio of corporate bond investments.
Under supervision, manages credit restructuring situations and develops loss mitigation strategies.
May occasionally participate in inter-departmental projects related to investments and/or company acquisitions.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or MBA/MSF preferred. May be required to complete the CFA designation.
Minimum two (2) years, three (3) years preferred, of relevant corporate credit and capital markets experience.
Knowledge of the U.S. fixed income markets, corporate bond trading and relative value analysis
Must possess solid business and investments writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Access.
Proficient in S&P’s Capital IQ application and various Bloomberg fixed-income applications.
