Senior Specialist, Opto-Mechanical Engineer – Space Optical Systems

Role Overview

• Design high-precision and complex space opto-mechanical telescopes hardware as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
• Perform design, development, analysis, and manufacturing tasks on complex precision mechanical components
• Create/modify CAD models using top-down modeling techniques using CREO
• Present design details at program reviews to customers and independent reviewers
• Support production operations with design of tooling, test equipment, and shop aids

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
• 4+ years in CAD modeling and design tools
• Professional experience with opto-mechanical engineering
• Professional experience designing systems for space environments
