In this role, you will take the lead in preparing both preliminary and detailed designs for bridges, culverts, and other transportation-related structures.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing structural inspections, analysis and calculations to ensure the safety, durability, and efficiency of our projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail while preparing comprehensive reports and contract documents, helping to lay the foundation for successful project delivery.
Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you coordinate and review drawing production and maintain close communication with other engineering disciplines.
Your ability to foster teamwork and project collaboration will be essential in delivering high-quality results.
In addition, you will serve as a key point of contact during the construction phase, providing construction liaison services and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Upholding rigorous quality control and quality assurance standards will be a central part of your role.

Requirements
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university
Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (or another provincial association) preferred.
Minimum four (4) years of design experience for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations for various bridge types and materials including highway and rail bridges.
Experience and proven knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and provincial/territorial standards
Familiarity with OSIM (Ontario Structural Inspection Manual) and has at least two (2) years experience conducting or participating OSIM bridge and culvert inspections, preferably within the Ottawa region.
Knowledge in structural analysis software for the evaluation and analysis of various types of bridges and working knowledge of CAD software
Initiative and ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team with a collaborative attitude
