Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance reporting accuracy.
Oversee the accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
Analyze production and purchasing costs, manufacturing variances (labor, overhead, materials), and gross margin results to identify cost-saving opportunities and explanations of changes, support product category reporting related to cost drivers.
Establish and routinely update standard costs for materials and labor, ensuring they reflect current manufacturing or purchasing realities.
Collaborate with Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and R&D teams to understand cost drivers and support strategic decision-making.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and manufacturing operations.
Support annual standards process to include business partner reviews of changes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance , or a related field.
A Master’s degree (MBA) or certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred.
8+ years of progressive experience in cost or manufacturing accounting, including several years in a supervisory or management capacity.
