Lead and manage a team of managers and engineers responsible for core pieces of Snowflake's control plane and query serving infrastructure
Ensuring operational readiness of the services and meeting the commitments to our customers regarding availability and performance
Be comfortable with delegating decisions for part of what is under your leadership to others
Define and execute the technical strategy for Cloud Services, ensuring alignment with Snowflake's overall vision and goals
Partner with other leaders in the Engineering and Product organizations on quarterly planning, staffing, and project schedules
Grow the team by recruiting and hiring new team members and growing existing ones
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning while also promoting practical decision making
Requirements
15+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production
5+ years of experience managing managers and leading technical teams
Strong background in coding and problem-solving, with the ability to provide technical guidance and oversight
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with internal customers, engineers, non-technical team members, and executives
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results
Excellent understanding of low level operating systems concepts including multi-threading, memory management, networking and storage, performance and scale
BS / MS in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience
