This position will lead R&D efforts and drive new product development in a hands-on lab/shop environment.
Lead the development and simulation efforts for new control system functionalities from ground up design and modifications to existing control system code.
Spearhead the development of new control system functionalities and modifications, leveraging advanced techniques and tools to drive innovation.
Oversee the execution of test strategies tailored to R&D projects to validate and refine developments.
Collaborate with developing standard code libraries for use within Symbotic control systems to control new and existing automation systems.
Assist in developing best practices and standards for future control system programming.
Document standard code library and final control system programming.
Work autonomously to execute development tasks, focusing on pushing the boundaries of industrial control technology and exploring novel solutions to address industry challenges.
Actively participate in design reviews for technical solutions within existing architectures.
Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineer, Computer science or in a related discipline.
Knowledge of Power Systems and Servo Controls to design coordinated motion control systems.
Experience with AC/DC Drive Control Architecture.
10+ years’ Design and Implementaton of Industrial Control Systems using PLC, HMIs, Industrial Robotics, and VFD/Servo Drives.
10+ years’ in ground up Programming of PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems. (Rockwell Automation products preferred)
Experience within the Material Handling Industry (Prior Integrator or OEM experience preferred)
