About this role
Role Overview
Manage all accounting activities in compliance with French accounting standards, including journal entries, reconciliations, provisions, and maintenance of statutory records.
Ensure compliance with all French legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Lead the monthly and annual closing processes in accordance with French accounting standards and group reporting requirements.
Prepare financial reporting for the headquarters, including reconciliation between local standards and group standards where applicable.
Perform variance and financial performance analyses.
Supervise and/or carry out customer invoicing.
Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding payments when necessary.
Manage daily cash position.
Produce cash-flow forecasts.
Analyze financial flows and identify short-term financing needs.
Prepare French tax filings, including VAT returns, and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
Collaborate with external tax advisors when necessary and monitor developments in tax legislation.
Act as the main contact for statutory auditors.
Prepare required documentation and support audit processes.
Ensure timely preparation of statutory financial statements and mandatory filings.
Prepare the financial documentation required for consultations and information obligations of the CSE (Works Council), in accordance with French labor law.
Perform accounting control of payroll entries (outsourced payroll) and ensure their consistency with accounting records and legal requirements.
Ensure compliance with payroll-related social obligations in France, including social contributions and associated filings.
Respond to employee questions related to payroll financial aspects (expense reports, variable compensation, etc.).
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial management, preferably in France.
Strong knowledge of French accounting standards (French GAAP), local statutory reporting, and French regulatory requirements.
Proven expertise in French tax matters, particularly VAT.
Good understanding of social obligations and payroll-related regulations in France.
Experience coordinating with statutory auditors and external advisors.
Knowledge of processes and obligations related to the CSE is a plus.
Experience with monthly closings, financial analysis, and cash management.
Ability to work independently while supporting management in an agile organization.
Excellent analytical skills, rigor, and strong organizational abilities.
Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
