Collaborate with the community to gather feedback, prioritize features, and drive the project roadmap.
Develop high-quality technical content (blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation) to showcase OpenObserve's capabilities and best practices.
Create engaging demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the value of OpenObserve.
Represent OpenObserve at industry conferences, meetups, and hackathons to promote the project and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Develop and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to educate developers about OpenObserve.
Provide technical support and guidance to developers through various channels (e.g., GitHub, Slack, forums).
Help troubleshoot issues, provide code reviews, and offer best practices advice.
Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers,
diving deep into the details to solve complex technical business problems and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient solutions.
Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using OpenObserve.
Work closely with the OpenObserve engineering team to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and provide feedback on the project roadmap.
Collaborate with other open-source projects and industry partners to identify opportunities for integration and growth.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in a developer advocacy or similar role, with a focus on open-source technologies.
Strong technical background in software development, with experience in languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and observability tools (e.g., Opentelemetry, OpenObserve, Prometheus, Grafana, ...).
Strong understanding of the open-source ecosystem and the importance of community engagement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, with a strong focus on self-motivation and time management.
Willingness to travel to industry events and conferences (approximately 20% of the time).
