Reporting to the Lead Level Design Director, you will be responsible for creating levels in line with the production's artistic vision.
You innovate to design and decompose missions and assign tasks to collaborating teams to improve workflows.
Use a creative vision to understand and develop a level's role within the overall game experience.
Prototype environments, establish layouts, and propose the use of interactive and non-interactive elements to elicit the desired emotional response from the player.
Collaborate closely with art and design teams to create and refine the gameplay experience.
Master scripting to orchestrate level events.
Integrate produced assets into the map as the project progresses (new gameplay elements, AI, sound, etc.).
Manage level accessibility, clarity, and difficulty.
Fix level-design bugs recorded in the database by the QA team.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a level designer in the video game industry.
Experience with Unreal Engine, 3DS Max, and familiarity with bug-tracking software (e.g., Jira).
Strong knowledge of current gameplay trends and game systems.
Understanding of French and English (spoken and written) is an asset.
