Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to guide completion of critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance (witness and hold) points, inspections, and tests and ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements
Coordinate activities of Westinghouse functions responsible for driving supplier performance including Supply Chain (buyers and category managers), Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight
Identify and escalate supplier issues, risk, and quality events. Promote prompt resolution of issues by coordinating activities, issuing communications, and identifying partners to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition of issues, and implementation of corrective action
Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices) for assigned suppliers to proactively identify negative performance trends and implement causal analysis, corrective actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans to mitigate issues.
Evaluate procurement (supplier) risk, soliciting partner input, and using resources to develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
Oversee internal and external (supplier) corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions
Perform technical evaluations of suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards, and associated risks
Identify gaps between supplier capabilities and Westinghouse technical / quality requirements to establish and implement development plans. Lead supplier development and qualification activities for new products, supplier improvement projects, and cost reduction efforts. This includes performing supplier development activities to establish or improve suppliers' manufacturing processes and quality management systems to meet Westinghouse requirements.
Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, input to design for manufacturability.
Work with Design Engineering to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated to support suppliers.
Support implementation of Value Analysis / Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles during the design process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering
4+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE and inspection, and testing
Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs.
Experience leading multiple, concurrent projects
Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
Experience with nuclear products and standards preferred.
