Lead the development, execution, and oversight of global insurance and risk management strategy
Serve as the enterprise subject‑matter leader on insurance strategy
Advise senior leadership on risk appetite, retention strategy, market conditions, and emerging insurance risks
Act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior stakeholders
Apply balanced judgment across legal, financial, and reputational considerations when structuring insurance programs
Maintain strong awareness of global emerging risk issues
Actively manage global and local broker relationships
Structure and lead insurer market engagement strategies
Demonstrate strong understanding of the financial drivers of insurance programs
Respond to ad hoc insurance questions arising from contracts and commercial activity
Coordinate certificates of insurance and evidence of coverage
Support routine operational insurance needs alongside strategic priorities
Partner closely with Legal teams on insurance‑related litigation, claims strategy, and contractual risk transfer
Bring experience building, stabilizing, or materially enhancing insurance programs during periods of organizational change, growth, transformation, or transition
Requirements
15+ years of progressive experience in insurance, risk management, or a related discipline
Significant responsibility for global insurance programs and enterprise risk decision‑making
Proven experience operating in a complex, matrixed, multinational organization
Partnering with senior stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Operations, Commercial, and Corporate functions
Background in a regulated industry with meaningful exposure to litigation, compliance, and/or product liability risk (e.g., life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or similarly regulated global industries) is strongly preferred
Demonstrated track record of leading insurance strategy and risk decisions in environments with material financial, legal, and reputational exposure
