Design and build high-performance transaction systems, APIs, and data pipelines using Microsoft SQL and modern backend technologies.
Collaborate closely with engineering and data teams.
Develop and support high-performance transaction processing systems that meet business and operational requirements.
Design, build, and maintain API integrations and batch interfaces with business partners and internal reporting systems.
Support and enhance existing data pipelines and reporting frameworks using Microsoft SQL and other development tools.
Lead the resolution of ambiguous or complex technical problems, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, while contributing to strong engineering practices and testing standards.
Follow secure coding standards and ensure all systems comply with data protection, security, and privacy requirements.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, clearly communicating trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability.
Contribute to the growth of the engineering team through knowledge sharing, documentation, and technical demonstrations.
Requirements
5–8+ years of professional software development experience, including building low-latency, high-volume, and high–availability systems in a 24/7 production environment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL and at least one programming language such as Go, PHP, Java, or C#.
Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, API design, and modern development tools including AI-assisted development tools.
Familiarity with payment industry standards, such as ISO 8583, and experience integrating with Visa, Mastercard, or other payment networks.
Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements, particularly PCI DSS.
Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident management skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering environment.
