Develops, integrates, and documents mechanical and structural payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develops, maintains, and manages mechanical and structural system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Leads supplier development, test, and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Leads investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Clearly communicates technical information with Boeing teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory delegates to certify and produce a product
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
5+ years of engineering experience
9+ years’ experience in Engineering with 5+ years’ experience with CATIA or other CAD software
Experience in computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics and/ or Unigraphics
Experience with collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
