Role Overview
- Develops, integrates, and documents mechanical and structural payload system requirements to establish the system design.
- Develops, maintains, and manages mechanical and structural system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Performs tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Leads supplier development, test, and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
- Leads investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
- Clearly communicates technical information with Boeing teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory delegates to certify and produce a product
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 9+ years’ experience in Engineering with 5+ years’ experience with CATIA or other CAD software
- Experience in computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics and/ or Unigraphics
- Experience with collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
- Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
