Support the deployment, operations, and maintenance of AWS-based infrastructure for mission-critical systems supporting the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA)
Maintain secure, reliable, and scalable cloud environments while supporting hybrid cloud integration, automation, and modernization initiatives
Deploy, configure, and support AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch
Administer and support Linux-based systems in AWS environments
Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible
Support cloud networking configurations including VPC design, DNS, load balancing, VPN connectivity, and integration with on-premises environments
Utilize AWS CloudWatch and enterprise tools to monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and support incident response activities
Implement and support security controls aligned with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies
Assist with cloud optimization activities
Support cloud deployments and automation pipelines
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5 years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 1–3 years supporting AWS environments
Experience with AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing)
Experience with Linux system administration in cloud or virtualized environments
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and/or configuration management tools (Ansible)
Experience or familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds)
