Tech Lead Fullstack – Angular, Java

Role Overview

• You shape the technical future.
• You take technical ownership of your area — from architecture through to production operations.
• You define target architectures, make well-founded architecture and build‑vs‑buy decisions, and set clear technical guardrails for our modern Java/Spring Boot and Angular/TypeScript landscape.
• You challenge existing solutions, monitor market and technology trends, and evolve our systems deliberately with the aim of actively shaping the market rather than following it.
• You bridge product and technology.
• You work closely with Product and stakeholders and translate business goals into actionable technical approaches.
• In doing so, you critically evaluate requirements, make dependencies and risks transparent, and support informed decision-making.
• You assess AI potential and integrate it deliberately where it creates real value — whether in the development process or in the product.
• You keep delivery, quality and costs in view.
• You are holistically responsible for the technical perspective across Discovery & Delivery, with a focus on architecture, quality and cost/benefit trade-offs.
• You avoid unnecessary complexity and make clear decisions about where innovation makes sense.
• You think about technology through to operation.
• You maintain our high code and quality standards and ensure we can continue to release quickly and reliably.
• You think beyond the merge request, detect structural weaknesses early, and ensure stability, maintainability and transparency in production operations.

• You work with experienced developers who operate autonomously and discuss on equal terms. Through sparring, feedback and shared guardrails you support them in taking responsibility and making technical decisions with confidence.

Requirements

• Many years of experience in developing complex software systems as well as in technical leadership, e.g., as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer or Staff Engineer.
• A strong sense for architecture, system design and sustainable technical decisions in mature system landscapes.
• Experience coordinating with Product and stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical tasks, taking responsibility for feedback on technical decisions.
• Several years of experience with Java / Spring Boot and TypeScript / Angular, ideally with recent versions.
• Confidence working with APIs, integrations, distributed systems and CI/CD in a production-oriented software development environment.
• High standards for code quality, clear technical principles and test coverage (ideally with Playwright).
• Good understanding of stability, scalability and maintainability in production — including under increasing traffic.
• Enjoy empowering colleagues through guidance, sparring and clear decisions.
• Interest in pragmatically applying new technologies and sensibly integrating AI potential into the product (e.g., experience with Claude Code, Copilot or similar).
