Take charge of the bring-up and functional validation of custom actuator controller hardware.
Design and implement structured test plans covering power rails, sequencing, and communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART.
Conduct fault-injection tests including over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuits, brownouts, resets, and miswired peripherals.
Analyze hardware behavior under varying input voltages, load conditions, and temperature ranges.
Build and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, and debug setups to facilitate thorough hardware evaluation.
Deliver detailed documentation of test outcomes and actionable recommendations to hardware and software teams.
Support EMI debugging efforts and pre-compliance testing as necessary.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2+ years’ experience in embedded hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging of power, reset, clocking, and communication issues
Expertise in validating digital communication interfaces and analog signal paths with the ability to design margin, timing, and fault-related tests
Strong ability to differentiate between hardware, firmware, and interaction faults
Effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams
