About this role
Role Overview
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of area-owned applications
- Lead incident response and resolution within defined SLOs, including root cause analysis, post-mortems, and implementation of preventive actions
- Proactively monitor application health, logs, and interfaces to detect and prevent service disruptions
- Build and maintain observability tooling — dashboards, alerts, and runbooks using the Grafana stack (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Alertmanager)
- Automate operational tasks and eliminate recurring manual work using Bash and Python scripting
- Manage and improve infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt
- Maintain and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines and support GitOps workflows
- Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes (k8s), contributing to cluster reliability and scalability
- Collaborate closely with Service Desk, DevOps, infrastructure, cybersecurity, engineering teams, vendors, and Product Owners
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards in the banking sector
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in IT application support, SRE, DevOps, or software engineering, preferably in the financial services sector
- Strong analytical skills, service mindset, and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Experience supporting applications in production environments and participating in on-call rotations
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, especially incident, problem, and change management
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK)
- Solid understanding of GitLab pipelines and GitOps principles
- Practical AWS knowledge — compute, networking, storage, IAM
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
- Working knowledge of databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Terragrunt
- Kubernetes experience — deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining workloads
- Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level.
