Manages a small team of designers and/or researchers working on projects or features
Sets clear expectations for deliverables and provides regular feedback to team members
Creates work plans based on project requirements and team capacity
Supports team members in developing their design and collaboration skills
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to coordinate design work
Provides status updates on team progress and upcoming deliverables
Coordinates with peer designers to maintain consistency
Manages team resources appropriately within project budgets
Follows established workflows and ensures team uses design system components correctly
Reviews designs to ensure quality and consistency with standards
Raises user experience concerns in project planning discussions
Coordinates with researchers to ensure insights inform design work
Tracks team progress against project milestones and flags risks
Addresses team dynamics and supports positive collaboration
Participates in hiring and helps onboard new team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, Psychology, or related field
6+ years of experience in UX design or research
1-2+ years of people management experience or strong lead experience ready for management
Demonstrated success delivering quality UX work on projects
Experience of collaborating with product and engineering teams
Familiarity with design systems and standard UX processes
Track record of supporting peer development through mentoring or leading.
