Support product and services development across divisions aligning to the MD&A GT strategy
Understand the competitive technical limitations of the GT business and develop a strategy to close those gaps as required by product leadership
Provide technical support as needed to all gas turbine divisions with interpretation of design criteria, evaluation, and resolution of field and shop issues
Lead and support Root Cause and Corrective actions following MD&A RCA process, including containment, root cause investigation, corrective action development, and validation
Support enhancement of the documentation and configuration control methods in use by the MD&A gas turbine divisions
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
Contribute to building a positive cross division team spirit and maintain a continuous improvement mindset
Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels
Travel up to 30% to MD&A GT locations and HQ, and occasionally to MD&A job sites
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field of study
A minimum of 10 years of experience in gas turbine and generator engineering design or services
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Work effectively without supervision.
Effectively collaborate in a cross functional team environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals.
Ability to write and review technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, suppliers, and other employees in the organization.
Customer Service orientation; Identifies, analyzes, & solves engineering problems quickly with practical solutions.
Knowledge of gas turbine engineering including overall gas turbine and generator configuration, turbine parts, accessories, and auxiliary systems is required.
Process knowledge in Power Industry; detailed knowledge & proficiency in Quality Systems, Engineering Design, and CAD capability desirable.
