Handle all financial aspects (cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting) for News Programming
Plan, budget, analyze, forecast, and report business
Coordinate, track, control, authorize and reconcile expenditures
Prepare detailed analysis of business operations, including budget variances, recommending and implementing courses of action to maintain budget integrity
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with management
Prepare ad-hoc and monthly financial reports for review and discussion with Senior Management to facilitate decision making
Participate in cross-functional departmental process improvement projects and financial systems implementations
Interpret and apply labour agreements, CBC policies, and business practices
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Professional accounting designation such as CPA
Minimum 3 years of production finance and/or accounting experience
Proven success in analyzing business operations
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
Superior investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement strategies for improvement
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experienced working in a diverse and inclusive environment
Superior Excel skills and experience working with Cognos and Workday is an asset
