- Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems
- Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems
- Participating in design modernization efforts
- Resolving production and supply chain hold ups
- Performing complex technical analysis
- Checking drawings and models for technical accuracy
- Writing system technical manuals
- Interfacing with Construction and Trades
- Interfacing with suppliers for design development
- Leading meetings with peers and customers
- Performing root cause analysis
- Generate and evaluate new designs and processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 years of relevant exempt experience
- Master’s Degree and 0 years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Strong aptitude for electromechanical systems
- Component Stress & Failure Analysis
- Finite Element Analysis
- 3D modeling software experience (e.g. Inventor or Solidworks)
- Technical writing experience
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Experience with software to hardware interfaces
- Machinery critical-alignment experience
- Machinery installation experience
- Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to climb vertical ladders and access tight spaces aboard ship
- Strong team player
