You develop, implement and test mission-critical software for ground control systems
You analyze system requirements
You are responsible for the technical design and create the software architecture
You conduct code reviews
You establish best practices in software engineering
You maintain comprehensive documentation (design, implementation, test procedures)
You resolve complex issues (debugging)
You evolve existing code (refactoring)
You act as a mentor and guide junior team members

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field
Proven experience in software engineering, preferably in the development of complex information systems
Strong knowledge of a mainstream programming language such as C++ and Java and relevant development environments
Experience with software architecture principles and design patterns
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of initiative, sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken
Interest in spaceflight and challenging technological projects is an advantage
