As a Mainframe Developer, you ensure the smooth operation of the supported application systems
You handle service requests and incidents, analyze disruptions and ensure sustainable resolution of problems
You contribute your own ideas for system improvements and actively drive the optimization and automation of existing applications
You continuously further develop the systems based on functional, technical and regulatory requirements
You maintain close collaboration with other mainframe system engineers, business analysts and the operations team at our end customer
You are responsible for creating detailed requirements, specifications and program code
You regularly test your program code and ensure careful documentation of your developments

You have a degree in Computer Science / Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
In your professional career you have worked with software tools such as IBM ISPF, IBM IMS/DC, IBM RACF, IBM TWS/OPC, IBM RD/z, Compuware File-Aid, Compuware Xpediter or Atlassian JIRA
You have practical experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL), COBOL and SQL
Ideally you have also gained experience with IBM REXX and PL/I, but this is not mandatory
For databases, you have knowledge of IBM Db2 for z/OS (Db2 mainframe)
You are familiar with the operating systems z/OS (OS/390 – MVS/XA) and Windows
Ideally you built your IT experience within an insurance company
Your strong teamwork and communication skills, combined with high problem-solving ability, support you in your daily tasks
You maintain a structured, analytical and independent way of working
Very good German language skills, spoken and written (level C1), complete your profile
