In this vital role the Executive Director, US Business Unit POD Lead, is responsible for leading an integrated analytics and primary market research organization aligned to the Oncology & LVL (Lifecycle Value Lab) business unit.
This role serves as the insights and analytics quarterback for the OBU (Oncology Business Unit) & LVL ensuring that data, analytics, and customer insights are integrated into clear, actionable perspectives that drive commercial performance.
Each POD Lead oversees Directors responsible for Analytics and Primary Market Research and partners closely with leaders across Commercial, Medical, Forecasting, Value & Access, Finance, and Field Operations to deliver a holistic view of business performance, opportunities, and risks.
As a trusted advisor to the Business Unit General Manager and senior leadership team, the POD Lead brings an objective, transparent, and forward-looking perspective on business performance, investment decisions, resource prioritization, and growth opportunities.
This role plays a critical part in identifying leading indicators of performance, accelerating decision-making, and enabling the business to act quickly in dynamic market environments.
The Executive Director also plays a key role in advancing the organization’s capabilities through the adoption of automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics, leveraging modern technology to accelerate insight generation, strengthen predictive capabilities, and improve the speed and quality of decision-making.
In addition, the POD Lead is responsible for executing a global workforce and delivery model, leveraging teams across Amgen’s global delivery centers and strategic partners to scale insights generation with speed, efficiency, and consistency.
Requirements
Doctorate degree & 6 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience
OR Master’s degree & 10 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience
OR Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of market research, analytics, competitive intelligence, sales, and/or marketing operations experience
AND 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Ability to influence senior leadership and shape strategic decisions through insights and analytics
Strategic thinking and business acumen with deep understanding of commercial drivers in the biopharmaceutical industry
Experience leading insights, analytics, or market research organizations supporting multiple brands or therapeutic areas
Experience integrating multiple insights capabilities including market research, analytics, forecasting, and competitive intelligence
Executive communication and storytelling skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
Experience building and leading global teams across multiple geographies
Knowledge of drug development, commercialization, and the broader healthcare ecosystem including patients, healthcare providers, and payers
Experience leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled insights capabilities
Experience building and developing high-performing teams.
