About this role
Role Overview
Own and drive timely preparation and submission of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy, and other periodic filings in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
Monitor and assess developments at the SEC and FASB for potential impacts on accounting or financial statement disclosures.
Assist with adoption of new accounting standards as required.
Prepare or review supporting schedules and documentation for earnings releases and financial statements.
Prepare or review journal entries, accounting analyses, and reconciliations related to stock-based compensation, earnings per share, stock repurchases and other equity-based transactions.
Prepare or review disclosure checklists and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships, such as stock administration, HR, tax, treasury, and legal.
Liaise with external auditors during quarter reviews and annual audits ensuring timely delivery of required responses and schedules.
Maintain strong ICFR documentation and operate key controls for external reporting and select technical areas.
Support ad-hoc projects and analysis which may include benchmarking, peer disclosure analysis, and others.
Manage and coach analysts and help foster long-term successes in their career.
Requirements
5+ years in SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting role, preferably including Big 4 background.
At least 3+ years in stock-based compensation accounting in a public company setting.
Ability to independently research and conclude on US GAAP or SEC reporting matters.
Strong documentation and memo-writing skills.
Proficiency with Netsuite, Shareworks, Workiva, or equivalent platforms.
Experience with ICFR framework and documentation requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
A willingness to learn and a strong desire to enact changes where necessary.
US CPA strongly preferred.
