Responsible for the development of the Engineered Risk business within their assigned territory.
Underwrite complex construction projects to properly determine capacity allocation, attachment point, terms and pricing to create a diverse and profitable book of business.
Manages and develops producer and client relationships.
Develops and executes a regional marketing plan aimed at retaining existing business and producing new business.
Creates and fosters a reputation as an industry expert with peers and producers.
Provide technical expertise to Sompo International's Global Risk Solution and Inland Marine product lines.
Gather and evaluate industry trends and competitive intelligence.
Participates in the development of the policy forms, premium rating plans and underwriting guidelines.
Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines.
Ability to work with others within a team and contribute to the development of others.
Ability to attend industry function(s).
Ability to travel nationally 25% of the time
Requirements
12+ years of Engineered Risk/Construction Property underwriting experience
Established relationships with regional retail & wholesale brokers
Established relationships with national facultative reinsurers
Experience in successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business
Bachelor’s Degree with an Engineering discipline preferred
Strong Attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong computer skills, Microsoft office applications
