Data Architect – Strong Azure Services, Finance Experience (GL, AR, AP)

Role Overview

• Understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data architecture and data models
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for finance systems (GL, AR, AP)
• Architect and implement end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft Azure
• Build and maintain enterprise data warehouse and data lake architectures
• Integrate data from ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and other upstream sources
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
• Enable batch and real-time data processing using Azure-native services
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reconciliation across financial systems
• Support financial reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
• Implement data governance, lineage, and cataloging using Azure Purview
• Collaborate with finance, business, and engineering teams for solution delivery
• Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability of data platforms.

Requirements

• 12+ years of exp only
• please don’t submit if you don’t have Finance (GL, AR, AP) experience
• Strong ability to understand business data and design effective data models
• Expertise in data modeling techniques (ER modeling, dimensional modeling – star/snowflake schema)
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including: Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance, Azure Event Hub & Stream Analytics (real-time ingestion), Azure Functions & Logic Apps (integration and automation), Azure Purview (data governance and lineage)
• Experience with data warehousing platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data transformation frameworks
• Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, ADF)
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy)
• Understanding of data lakehouse architecture and medallion design (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials, NetSuite) (Preferred)
• Knowledge of compliance standards (SOX, GAAP, IFRS) (Preferred)
• Experience in finance transformation and data migration programs (Preferred)
• Strong experience in Azure cloud architecture and implementation (Preferred)
• Nice to Have: Experience with real-time streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark), Knowledge of Python or scripting languages, Experience working in large enterprise environments.
