About this role

Investigate best suited materials for our parts & units
Closely cooperate with Unit Product Development to define part criteria (material, functional specs, lifetime specs, best matching quality vs cost balance, …)
Closely cooperate with main part suppliers
Setup needed parts testing and critically evaluate results.
Deeply analyze and determine root cause of issues followed by formulating fitting countermeasures (collaborate with external laboratories)
Report to the Parts Reliability Manager during the Development Review meetings.

Master in material engineering or master in electro mechanics/mechanics
Strong interest in material evaluation (composite materials, steel, stainless steel, …)
Hands on mentality to evaluate prototype in actual application (Genba)
Driven to achieve objectives successfully.
Critical mind set to validate parts, products & services (evaluate and find root cause if necessary)
Ability to react efficiently to occurring changes and problems (keep schedule without lowering quality level)
Team player with openness to cooperate within the entire organization
Very good knowledge of English
