Physician Complex Coder – GI Interventional Endoscopy

Role Overview

• Evaluates medical records for coding
• Codes diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with guidelines
• Consults with medical providers to clarify record information
• Provides quality assurance for medical records
• Compiles daily and monthly reports

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• At least 3 years of complex professional coding experience within specialty
• Certification such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setting
• Attention to detail
