About this role
Role Overview
- Lead architecture and design of scalable native applications in Snowflake, Databricks, and other marketplaces
- Drive best practices for performance, cost optimization, and reliability
- Partner with product, data, and platform teams to deliver business-critical solutions
- Enable AI/ML and advanced analytics through high-quality, accessible data systems
- Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and governance practices
- Mentor engineers and conduct architecture/design reviews
- Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, observability, and incident response
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on data platforms or data engineering
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, Databricks/Apache Spark, Python, and SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, production systems
- Demonstrates strong system design and architectural thinking
- Operates effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Influences across teams without direct authority
- Strong ownership mindset with a focus on business impact
