Design avionics electronics (PCBs) or lead COTS/custom supplier selection and trade-offs
Perform market research and interface with electronics suppliers and manufacturers
Write simple embedded software for breadboards, hardware bring-up, and test stands
Design and build test boards and electrical ground support equipment (EGSE)
Conduct functional electronics laboratory testing and support system integration
Build and maintain lab-level wiring harnesses
Ensure avionics development follows ESA / ECSS standards and best practices
Produce clear technical documentation and test reports
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and working students
Requirements
MSc in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
Professional experience in space avionics or embedded systems (not a first job)
Experience working on space, aerospace, or other safety-critical embedded systems
Proven ability to work across hardware and software domains
PCB design (ECAD)
Microcontrollers and onboard computers
Embedded C/C++ (reading, debugging, writing simple code)
Electrical interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, RS485/RS422, CAN, SpaceWire or similar)
Lab testing and instrumentation (e.g. LabVIEW)
Familiarity with ECSS standards
Understanding of space avionics constraints (radiation, redundancy, reliability, testing philosophy)
Benefits
High level of ownership across the full avionics lifecycle, from concept to flight
Direct impact on novel space manufacturing and deployment technologies
Close collaboration between hardware and software in a lean, fast-moving startup environment
Opportunity to shape avionics architecture rather than maintain legacy systems
