About this role
Role Overview
The Social Media & Digital Content Specialist’s main function is to lead social media presence and assist with broader digital content responsibilities for Midwest Sports+.
Develop and execute social media strategies, manage live sports streams, create original sports content, and collaborate with both digital and broadcast teams to grow our audience and enhance engagement across platforms.
Assist in scheduling and managing live sports streams via our platform and app, working closely with broadcast and production teams to ensure quality content.
Monitor analytics to track KPIs for performance, engagement, and growth.
Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster a sense of community.
Coordinate social campaigns around key sports events, streaming content, and breaking news.
Troubleshoot basic live stream technical issues when needed.
Collaborate with the broadcast team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms.
Produce short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) to promote stories, games, or athletes.
Clip highlights from live events for social and digital distribution.
Requirements
A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in social media, digital content production, or digital marketing.
Passion for sports and strong familiarity with Midwest teams, athletes, and fan culture.
Proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere, Canva, Photoshop, or CapCut.
Experience with live streaming tools and platforms is a plus.
Excellent writing, editing and visual storytelling skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during sports seasons.
Current residence in and the ability to work in the greater Sioux Falls, SD metro area.
Some travel may be required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
