Design mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, or systems using CAD software (SolidWorks).
Prepare and update engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
Design, build and take prototypes to increasing levels of fidelity, and work with product focused engineers to translate early prototypes into products.
Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
Assist with drafting Bills of Materials (BOMs), process instructions, or document change orders.
Conduct functional and performance testing on mechanical systems and components to ensure product quality.
Develop manufacturing processes and tools by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to meet project deadlines.
Design and finish concepts to a high-level of quality.
Ability to juggle numerous projects at once while honoring tight deadlines and deliverables.
Perform maximum/minimum material testing, tolerance stack analysis.
Perform engineering studies and tests to support design decisions, identify issues, or identify improvement opportunities.
Develop test methods, author design verification and design validation protocols, perform testing and document results, perform statistical analysis of results, author reports.
