About this role
Role Overview
Manage and actively participate in all day-to-day parts department operations.
Support parts counter activity, order processing, and customer issue resolution.
Oversee inventory levels, purchasing, stocking strategies, and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and availability.
Own parts pricing, margins, and revenue performance for the Illinois location.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, OEMs, and suppliers; negotiate pricing and terms.
Lead, train, and develop parts team members while setting clear expectations and driving accountability.
Monitor key performance indicators, including sales performance, inventory turns, obsolescence, and fill rates.
Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements, efficiency, and cost control.
Collaborate closely with Service and Sales teams to support customers and internal workflows.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready parts department.
Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations.
Requirements
5–8+ years of parts experience, preferably in heavy-duty, towing, trucking, or automotive environments
Prior experience as a Parts Manager, Lead Parts Specialist, or in a senior parts role
Strong working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, pricing, and vendor relations
Demonstrated ability to work hands-on alongside a team and lead by example
Comfort being actively involved in daily counter and operational work
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Proficiency with parts and inventory management systems
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment
Valid driver’s license required.
